Trusting in

God's Timing

“Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope. Wait for the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14 (NIrV)

Monica sat in her small apartment, staring at a list of cleaning supplies she had written out. The idea of starting her own cleaning business had been floating in her mind for months, but every time she thought about it, doubt crept in. What if it didn’t work out? What if no one hired her?

Her best friend, Carla, had been her biggest cheerleader. “Monica, you’re amazing at what you do,” Carla had told her over coffee one morning. “You already help so many people with their homes—you could easily make this your career.”

But now, alone in her living room, Monica felt paralyzed by fear. She picked up her phone and texted Carla, “I don’t think I can do this. What if I fail?”

Moments later, Carla replied, “Trust God, Monica. He’s brought you this far. Remember Psalm 27:14: ‘Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope.’ Take it one step at a time and lean on Him.”

Monica sighed, placing her phone on the table. She knew Carla was right. That night, she knelt by her bed and prayed. “Lord, I’m scared. I don’t know what the future holds, but I feel like You’ve placed this idea in my heart for a reason. Please show me what to do, and help me to trust You.”

The next morning, Monica decided to take a small step of faith. She printed flyers and posted about her cleaning services on a neighborhood app. Within hours, she received her first inquiry. Soon, a second message came in, then a third. Each new message felt like God whispering, “I’ve got this.”

Over the next few weeks, Monica’s confidence grew. Her clients were thrilled with her work, and many referred her to their friends. One day, as she cleaned a home, Monica paused to reflect on how far she had come. She realized her fear had been replaced by hope, and her doubt had been overcome by trust in God.

Monica’s journey wasn’t without challenges, but she held on to Psalm 27:14. Waiting on the Lord didn’t mean standing still; it meant trusting Him as she stepped forward, even when the path wasn’t clear.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for reminding us to wait on You and trust in Your perfect timing.

Like Monica, we often feel unsure and afraid, but we know You are with us every step of the way.

Help us to find strength and courage when we face doubts, and guide us as we take steps of faith.

Thank You for opening doors and providing encouragement through friends and Your Word.

We trust that You will continue to lead us as we wait on You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
