HEAVEN & HELL

How Do I Get To Heaven And Avoid Hell?

In the eyes of God, good and bad are incompatible.

God is just, he loves righteous deeds, and he loves those that do righteous deeds.

God despises darkness, despises evil things, and despises those who commit evil acts.

While God is compassionate and generous, he is still just and must discipline sin.

This indicates that those whom God regards as evil are not permitted to coexist with those whom God regards as good.

That is why heaven and hell exist.

Where Will You Spend Eternity?

Have you ever been told that God determines who goes to paradise and who goes to hell? Perhaps you simply assumed this was how it worked. However, this is not entirely accurate.

Hell was established exclusively for the devil and demons, not for human beings. However, regrettably, people who reject Jesus Christ do go to hell when they die. God wishes for everyone to accept His gift of salvation and spend eternity in heaven.

It makes no difference how awful a sinner someone is; God has provided a means for everyone to gain forgiveness and enter heaven. When Jesus died on the cross, He bore the world's sin. He accepted the death penalty that every one of us deserved.

Bible Quote

For we know that if our earthly house, our present ‘tent’, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house no human hands have built: it is everlasting, in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 5:1

What is Heaven?

While the Bible includes the terms "heaven" and "heavens" to refer to the sky, sun, moon, stars, and planets, the Bible also uses the term "heaven" to refer to the location where God lives. It is sometimes referred to as God's throne and is a completely holy place.

Although there is no doubt that heaven exists "somewhere," we have no way of describing exactly where that "somewhere" is. However, Scripture teaches us that it is a true place, a beautiful place.

Not only God resides in this beautiful heaven. According to the Bible, those who believe in the Savior and have perished also have a place in heaven in God's presence. They have now been made sacred as a result of their confidence in Jesus' work and are now free to remain in God's holy presence indefinitely.

Ultimately, on the Last Day, Jesus will come from heaven and bring all things back to physical life, and that those who believe in him will reign with God in a superior heaven and earth.

What is Hell?

Those that do not follow Jesus will be unable to enter heaven with God and the believers. Other than that, the Bible informs us that they live in a state of everlasting torment, most often referred to as hell, because God is just.

In the Bible, this divine torment is referred to by a variety of names: hell, beyond, into darkness, eternal fire, eternal punishment, the Abyss, Hades, ultimate doom, eternal judgment, blackest darkness, the second death, moral death, the pit of fire, and the lake of fiery sulfur. Whatever name you give it, it does not make a particularly pleasant place to spend eternity.

Why is hell given such a variety of depressing names? Since it is fundamentally a life devoid of God's caring presence. When Satan and the other fallen angels rebelled against God, God sentenced them to an eternity in hell.

Likewise, when all mankind has performed a sin against God and is unable to enter his presence aside from believing in the Savior Jesus, those who do not believe are punished and condemned to death.

“Those who believe and are baptized will be redeemed; moreover, those who do not believe and are not baptized will be condemned.” And on the Last Day, as Jesus returns, he will physically lift disbelievers to life, but they will be condemned to eternal torment.

It is surely tragic that God felt compelled to create an environment akin to hell. We may, however, take consolation in the fact that he did not abandon us to everlasting punishment. We will look forward to someday live with our glorious God in heaven because of our Savior Jesus, who suffered for our sin and offered us his holiness.

How Can I Be Sure That I Will Go To Heaven?

Heaven Is A Gift

There is a widely held belief in the world that people can enter Heaven in a variety of ways, but this is simply not true. This is a devilish plot to prevent people from being saved. Salvation is offered to every single person who has ever been born.

Heaven is a gift from Jesus Christ to all who believe. You could never earn it or deserve it in any way. You must believe in what Jesus has done in order to receive the gift of eternal life. There is no alternative.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ was God's Son, that He came to earth, died on the cross for your sin, and was raised from the dead? If such is the case, then confess it and receive salvation! Faith is that straightforward. Confess with your heart and with your mouth.
