Starting Point

Beginning your journey in Christ

You were born to know and understand God, as well as to be something extraordinary.

It's not about escaping hell if you know Jesus. It's about receiving life and life in all of its fullness. It's all about reuniting with the strongest love in the world.

You will have a profound and loving relationship with Jesus because he made a means for you to do so. You hear his voice, reason with him, and help him love the world in this relationship.

Jesus Needs Your Approval.

You were created to be the bearer of God's presence and to be one with him. It's available right now and it's completely free. All you need is a desire and a decision. However, having a relationship with Jesus is not easy. You believe it is all about what you would do, but it is all about what Jesus has already accomplished.

Jesus desires for you to rest in his infinite love and be the person he created you to be. When Jesus looks at you, he doesn't see the same things you do. He sees his beloved son and daughter, whom he adores. Before you did a single thing, Jesus was happy with you.

We believe we have to win Jesus' love and repay him which makes having a relationship with him so hard. But that isn't the case. You can't win his affection, and you can't lose it either. His love isn't conditional on your acceptance.

Jesus doesn't need your wealth; he doesn't need your presence; he doesn't need your good deeds. All Jesus requires is your approval. Permission to join him on his journey. He's waiting to see whether you'll let him show you what he's already seen and thought about you.

Bible Quote

Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

Building a Relationship

However, Jesus would not compel you to love him. He wants you to choose whether or not to love him. Genuine love, you see, is based on mutual consent. Jesus already has accepted you, so he waits for you to return the favour. The problem is that most people are drawn to Jesus because they are afraid of Hell, not because they love God.

If that's the case, Jesus wants to start over with you. Fear of hell does not relate to loving Jesus, and true love cannot be founded on fear. Jesus can't wait for you to select him again and discover what it's like to have a true relationship with him.

It isn't about attending church or avoiding negative things to have a relationship with Jesus. A friendship with Jesus is, well, a relationship. It's a relationship like any other, one in which you engage, learn, and contribute.

A genuine partnership necessitates your involvement. Like something new, Jesus anticipates a slow start and the feeling that you aren't very good at it. That's fine. But take your time. It takes time to build a great relationship. It's worthwhile, and Jesus will not hurry you or put pressure on you to develop faster or better.

Bible Quote

“Go in through the narrow gate. The gate that leads to destruction is broad and the road wide, so many people enter through it.

But the gate that leads to life is narrow and the road difficult, so few people find it.

Matthew 7:13-14

Getting To Know Him.

He is aware that you are getting to know him and can proceed at your leisure. He'll let you make the decision, and he'll reciprocate when you're ready – approach him, and he'll approach you.

Oh, and don't think about the rest of the crowd. Your friendship with Jesus is completely exclusive to you. This doesn't have to look, sound, or be the same as someone else's. Since no two relationships are the same, don't anticipate a relationship with Jesus to be the same.

You are free to form a relationship with Jesus in any way you see fit. He doesn't mind if you're just getting to know him. He aspires to be recognized by you and will go to any length to achieve that goal. He'll tell you what he thinks when you get to know him, and he'll ask you what you think. He will instill in you ideas and thoughts that are not your own.

He'll begin to draw your heart's attention to his own. You'll start to sense nudges from him in your spirit. They're subtle, but they're there if you listen for them. Just now, they are there. If you want to, you can do so. It's cool if you're not prepared. But if you are, all you have to do is make a declaration and trust in your heart that it will happen.

But why is it necessary to say it aloud? Since God created everything through spoken words. Similarly, the force of God manifests itself in your life through your words. Words have the power to build worlds, and your words have the power to carry the same spirit of God that lifted Jesus from the dead to live in you.

Ready? Let’s go!

Bible Quote

Because if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and in your heart, you have faith that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 9-10

A Simple Prayer

I believe you are God's Son, Jesus. I believe you came to this world, died, and then rose again for me. You are Lord of all, Jesus. I accept the Holy Spirit's pledge to teach and direct me into a friendship with you, and I welcome you now. Amen.

Those few words, along with your heartfelt conviction, have put into motion a completely new future life for you. It's fine if you don't feel any different right now. This is just the start.

You've also just inherited a large new family, which is fantastic news. Brothers, siblings, mothers, and fathers who've been praying for you and can't wait to meet you. This is not meant to be a solo trip. You're expected to follow them as they embark on the same journey you've just begun.

They adore you, just as Jesus does, and are eager to develop a friendship with you as well.

Bible Quote

The wages that sin pays are death, but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

Begin Your Journey With Christ.

1.

GOD LOVES ME

Psalm 100:5 and 1 John 3:16

The first thing to understand is that God is crazy over you. These four points are an outline or description of the whole Bible, and the first thing to understand is that God is mad about you.

His love for you is limitless and unconditional. You can't make God love you any more or any less than He already does.

Nothing is more important to God than to love and be loved by you.

2.

I HAVE SINNED

Isaiah 59:2 and Romans 6:23

Unfortunately, something the Bible refers to as sin has isolated us from God's affection.

Simply put, sin is when we want to live for ourselves instead of for God.

When we deny God, violate His rules, and simply do it our own way, we are committing sin.

Relationships with friends, family, and God are all ruined by sin. According to the Bible, sin leads to death.

3.

JESUS DIED FOR ME

1 John 4:9-10 and Romans 5:8

The third argument is one of the most well-known truths in human history, but it is often overlooked.

The key is to understand that sin carries a death sentence. We've all sinned, and we've all earned the right to die.

God, on the other hand, who is merciful, cherished you so much that He sent Jesus to come and die in your place. For us to have everlasting life, Jesus died and rose again.

4.

I NEED TO DECIDE TO LIVE FOR GOD

Deuteronomy 30:19 and 1 John 1:9

God has gone to great lengths to show you how valuable you are to Him. Now it's important to determine what you want to do with your life.

For all eternity, God is giving you existence in all of its fullness.

Accepting that you have sinned, asking for God's forgiveness, and deciding to live the rest of your life solely for Him are all that is needed. It's all up to you.
